The readers of Helsingin Uutiset got to vote for the best burger restaurant in Helsinki, with the polls being open from March until the end of April. The voting list featured the 30 restaurants that received the most nominations from readers. In addition to Bastard Burgers, the list included many other popular burger joints in town, such as Friends & Burgers, Boneless and Burger Company. For restaurant chains, only the single most-nominated location was included. Voters were also welcome to suggest their own favorites from outside the initial list.

Helsingin Uutiset is a newspaper that has been published in Helsinki, Finland since 2003 and it has a total of 350 000 readers. The newspaper is especially known for their annual restaurant polls.
